Paratus Namibia introduced Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite offering, delivering high-speed internet to both residential and commercial users nationwide. The solution targets country-wide rollout, extending service to isolated regions lacking conventional network access.

By using Eutelsat OneWeb’s orbital satellite constellation, the technology reduces delay compared to conventional geostationary satellite internet. This launch builds on the long-standing partnership between Paratus and Eutelsat in Africa.

Paratus Namibia Managing Director Andrew Hall said, “We are bringing more than just another satellite connectivity option to Namibia. Paratus has considerable LEO experience across the continent, and we can now deliver that scale and technical expertise to our customers here, together with competitive packages with much greater control over how they manage their connectivity.”

The company offers competitive capped and uncapped packages, providing customers with flexibility, control, and value. The service delivers high-speed, low-latency connectivity across Namibia, extending reliable connectivity to locations where traditional services may be limited.

For residents and businesses in remote areas, this development could significantly improve their ability to participate in the digital economy, access online services, and stay connected with the rest of the country, potentially bridging the digital divide and supporting economic growth in previously underserved regions.

Customers also benefit from the resilience and support of the wider Paratus network, along with greater visibility and control over their data usage through the Paratus customer management platform. For businesses, the service can provide a reliable secondary or backup connection, strengthening network redundancy and business continuity.

Philippe Baudrier, Vice President for Africa at Eutelsat, stated that this launch means more customers in Namibia can access the connectivity that supports everyday life and economic activity.

The Namibia rollout is part of Paratus Group’s strategy to expand resilient, high-performance connectivity across Africa. It follows the multi-year agreement signed with Eutelsat in November 2025 to extend OneWeb LEO services in Southern Africa.

Paratus Group Chief Executive, Schalk Erasmus, said, “The agreement builds on the long-standing partnership between Paratus and Eutelsat. It supports our deployment of LEO connectivity in South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia, and complements the Paratus Group’s existing terrestrial and satellite infrastructure throughout Africa.”
